Pugs Adopted
Daisy - 13 years old

Daisy02

We recently lost our 14 year old Corgi-mix named Zeus. He was much loved, and the loss was felt very deeply. While dealing with our grief, we also knew we had to help our 15 year old female Pug adjust to being alone for the first time in 14 years. We were familiar with Under My Wing Pug Rescue website and frequently read the stories just because we ourselves are a Pug owner and animal lovers. Before we lost Zeus, we had visited the Under My Wing Website and remarked about one dog in particular who was 13 and named Daisy. After losing Zeus we were both looking at the website again when my partner asked….who is going to adopt Daisy? At that moment we both said the same thing….why not us? We were already concerned about our Pug being alone, Daisy was alone and they were both close in age. We immediately sent an e-mail to inquire about adopting Daisy and soon afterwards Daisy became a welcome addition to our home.

It is hard to adequately explain the joy she has brought to our home and family. The two Pugs get along wonderfully. We also have two cats and they are just as taken by Daisy. The support and assistance we have received from Under My Wing has made this a very simple but thorough process to navigate. While we were very aware of our grief for the pet we had lost, we knew we had the wellbeing of our remaining dog to focus on. Daisy is the perfect balance and companion to our dog and for our home. She is already a very important part of our family. We also believe that Zeus would have approved, knowing that no dog with so much love to give should be alone.

Thank-you UNDER MY WING - Pug Rescue and your loving volunteers for adding a wonderful member to our family.  - Dean & Denis

Emile - 2 years old

emile 1Just before the 2012 holiday season, 6 months since my previous pug Bruce had passed away, I was ready to adopt another pug.  This experience for me was most hopeful, joyful Emile has completed my family. He is a high energy pug, being just 2 yrs old. but that keeps me energized.  My experience has been a positive one, a very rich one; the team that is assembled to interact and work with the rescues are the greatest.  I highly recommend this organization for adoption.  God Bless to all and to all adopt a pug.  - Carol

Kitty - 1.5 year old

Theo and Kitty - 12-19-2012Rescuing a dog (or two in my case) has been one of the greatest joys. Knowing that we have helped make a dog's life a little easier gives everyone in our family a sense of pride. Kitty is a charming new addtion to our family. She has transitioned very well.. There have been a few small issues but with time and love she is settling in and understanding how life here works. Everything in the house was new to her. Pugs are quick learners and naturally friendly so within a few days it was as if she'd been here all along.  I had no idea that pugs were so fabulous! I'd heard many people talk about their affection and quirky ways. Until she came into our lives, I had never experienced a "pug hug" and after a long day at work it is a delight to see her affection and loyalty. She is so sweet, playful and fun. She has formed a bond with all of us very quickly. She is a bit of a clown and makes us laugh.

Under My Wing Pug Rescue helped us in the process of picking the right pug for us. We couldn't be happier. I only wish I had done this sooner! Please consider a rescue. You will be changing a dog's life through an act of kindness. Far beyond this though, your life will be enriched by a charming four legged friend.  Lee

Joulian - 8 years old

Joulian02Joulian is adapting very well and building up confidence daily. He is a very sensitive animal, loves being petted and stays very close at all times. Joulian loves to curl up with one of us. Fergus and Joulian get along like old friends. Fergus is a calm, self confident, but not assertive dog just under two years old so he still wants to play and Joulian will play on occasion. The two will run together when outside but it has been too cold so the times outside have been short. We really enjoy Joulian and are so glad he's now part of our family. Maureen & Dave

Tommy - 5 years old

Tommy05It's been a month since we adopted our beloved Tommy and he has adapted extremely well. Tommy loves to play with his new pug brother, Farley and they share a bed together at night. We especially enjoy the greeting that Tommy gives us when we return home from a day of work or school. Tommy howls with delight and jumps with excitement, always trying to "outdo" his pug brother with a greeting performance. Tommy enjoys his daily walks in our golf course community as we are very much committed to keeping him a healthy weight to keep the strain off his knees.
For anyone who is considering getting a pug, please consider a rescue. It's one of the most rewarding things we have done!!!
Thank you Genevieve, Maia and all the wonderful volunteers from Under My Wing.
We are so very grateful to have this precious soul as part of our family. - Erin, Martin, Farley and the kids

Dwayne - 5 years old

Dwayne has made for a very nice and warming addition to our family. He is so sweet and loving and is always by our side. He loves his walks on the weekend at the Conroy Pit. We've gone on road trips and he sleeps peacefully curled up in the back seat.  We couldn't be happier with this little guy and are very happy that we have provided him with his forever home. - Jamie & Stephanie
