"Tazz & Tucker PeeWee"

I recently adopted a 4-month-old Pug named Tucker PeeWee from UNDER MY WING - Pug Rescue. I really did not know much about this organization. I figured it was much like buying a pug from a breeder or a pet store, boy was I wrong…. Adopting a pug in need of a good home gave me so much satisfaction and joy. One of the best parts of the entire adoption process was getting to meet my new pug's foster mommy. This person had cared for Tucker a month before I showed up to take him home. I could tell the minute I walked into her home that she had, not only cared for but also loved Tucker PeeWee as if he was her very own. She accepted him into her home and even took the time to house train him. It was refreshing to find an organization that actually cared about the welfare of the pug and not how much money could be made. Since bringing Tucker home I have kept in touch with UNDER MY WING - Pug Rescue. They are there for me if I have any questions or concerns regarding our newest addition. I could not have asked for a better experience for myself, or my little pug Tucker PeeWee. Thanks for everything.

"Molly & Maya"

Molly & Maya (sisters) were adopted in January 2008 and are now sharing their new home with another pug, 13 year old Kristal. We love them so much already and we don't know what we would do without them. They have really settled in to their new home. It's wonderful to see real life with a happy ending - new beginning. Thank you again, my pug guardian angel for what you have done for my family and for my wonderful girls.

"Curtis"

It's now been 3 months that we've been fostering Curtis. At this time we feel his best home is with us. As we have found out it is very hard to find a home for a 8 year old dog, no matter how great they are. Curtis has made our place his home and has integrated very well to the family. We love him and would find it hard to separate from him. We wanted to confirm our intent to keep Curtis.

Curtis is sharing his life with Sophie the pug and Daphne the bug.

"Bijou"

Bijou has been the first pug I rescued back in October 2005. She came into my life after spending her first years being a puppy factory. She was totally exhausted and had extremelly bad teeth. At the age of 3, the vet had to remove 12 teeth !!!

Bijou was 3 years old when I brought her home. She was peeing/marking everywhere in the house and had severe separation anxiety. I thought I was not going to be able to make it. More than 2 years after coming into my life, she's made incredible improvement and is now sharing her life with my 2 other pugs.

She still has a bit of anxiety when I leave without her but she's a very good girl with a mellow and sweet temperament. She stays away from trouble and loves to cuddle next to my black pug Peachy. She loves to run and has learn how to swim last summer gaining more and more confidence every time. I love her to pieces and she's the reason why I started rescuing pugs.

"Toffee"

Toffee was rescued in May 2007 along with 4 other pugs and has found her forever home in August 2007. She is doing great, now sharing her home with a schnoodle. Toffee has adapted to that quite well, and has shown just how good a dog she is in comparison with the newest addition.

We have found Toffee's favorite place to be is with us, and she just loves the car! She has travelled a bit too, coming with us on a road trip to Boston over the summer, and also to a cottage, fishing. She is always included on visits to friends' houses. One of my sons is now saying he wants a black pug. We will leave that option open for the future!

"Gnuggit"

Someone once said to me when we got our first pug: "pugs are like peanuts, you can't have just one"…. We already owned Gnarly (also from Under My Wing).

Then we decided to foster a pug for the rescue. Along came a wee little pug, almost 5 years old whose tongue and teeth stuck out and eyes googled in two different directions. She looked so frail, sad and lonely. She tugged at your heart strings every time you looked at her.

Despite this she was so well mannered and such a little sweetie. She was so eager to please. We just couldn't give her away. She had to stay. We were happy to let her know her search for love was over, she'd found her forever home. Now she's starting to blossom. The sadness has left her eyes and replaced with "thank you".

She's such a little treasure, a real nugget. Hence we named her Gnuggit, with spelling chosen by (no, insisted upon) her sister Gnarly.

"Cleo"

Cleo is an hermaphrodite (both male & female) pug puppy who arrived at UNDER MY WING in November 2007. She has been adopted right away and is now living a happy life with 2 other pugs, Lola & Thomas. Here she is in the picture looking surprised to be caught tearing apart a newspaper.

"Daisy Angel"

After the loss of our 14 year old Dashchund, my husband and I were devastated. I went to the pound where I was told about Pug Rescue.

I was thrilled to find out that this kind of organization existed. I called and went through the criteria needed to adopt. We adopted Daisy and she has become the light of our lives. She is healthy and active as well as cuddly and affectionate. Our experience with Under My Wing - Pug Rescue was nothing short of fantastic, one I would gladly repeat again and again given the opportunity and the space.

"Mrs. Wiggles"

Mrs. Wiggles is an adorable dog. She's so devoted and attached. I got her from Under My Wing, and she's been an absolute joy. Housebroken and well-behaved, she's my constant companion. You can often meet her at Ottawa's pug meetups.

"Daisy"

My husband and I were on pug rescue waiting lists for almost two years when we heard about Under My Wing. The timing was perfect as we live in Niagara and were heading to Ottawa for a wedding. Daisy was very shy at first and afraid of almost everything. When we would walk her she would walk behind us and crouch down if anyone passed - it was heart breaking to see her afraid all the time. Slowly she became more brave, walking out in front of us, meeting other dogs, running around the yard instead of always following us. We have had her for four months and it is amazing how she has transformed with a little love! She is such a sweet little soul and she brings a lot of happiness to our home. She loves cuddling and sleeping on the back of the couch (The only way she can see out the window!) She is an awesome little dog and considering that only a few months ago she lived in a terrible environment, didn't have a name or a loving owner she has adjusted very well. I don't think the novelty of a loving family will wear off anytime soon.

"Chanel"

Last year I was introduced to Under My Wing Pug Rescue when I agreed to foster a precious 5 year old female Pug named "Chanel". From the day I brought Chanel home, I instantly fell in love with her. Chanel was very special to me, there was something about this pug that I instantly got attached to. We attended the vet on a few occasions and got her all doctored up. Chanel became more and more attached to the family.

Always following me around the house with my slipper in her little mouth, snorting and grunting, her pink little tongue hanging out. She was a keeper, I thought to myself. I then contacted Under My Wing Pug Rescue to let them know I was interested in adopting Chanel a.s.a.p.

Chanel has brought lots of joy and laughter to our home. We are very happy with the new addition to our family.

Thank you Genevieve for allowing us to have Chanel in our lives!

"Keesha & Ruby"

A few month ago two darling little rescue Pugs asked me, to make them members of our family. I welcomed them with open arms and I'm happy I did. They enrich my life with their uniqueness and adaptability. Although they never saw a BIG dog, they excepted my Bouvier des Flandres as best pals. They eat side by side, go outside with each other, I have a perfect family now.

Life can't get better

"Rosie"

Rosie came to her forever home in November 2006 after being rescued by Genevieve from a horrific situation. She was in pretty bad shape but has come a long way in less than a year. Rosie is now happy and healthy and enjoying life with her pug sister Lola and her extended pug family of Maisie and Belle. She is also loved by her humans who dote on her and love to see her experience fun new things, such as climbing the stairs (we're still working on that but she's getting the hang of it), playing with toys, and running wild and free at the dog park. Rosie is very affectionate and enjoys meeting (and being petted by/giving kisses to) other people, particularly young children. Her gentle and open nature is amazing and is truly a gift considering her background. Her greatest joy is snoozing contentedly on the couch with Lola and her Mommy. I am so grateful that I was able to give this precious little creature a bit of happiness. A huge thank you to Genevieve for the important work you do!

"Tallie"

Hi! We got our little pug from The Under My Wing Pug Recue. Originally we were going to get a pup, but because of our age and health situation, we decided to go with the suggestion of Genevieve and the Lady that was bording the mother of the pups. We took the mother (Tallie). Tallie is between 3 and 4 yrs old and is already house trained and is one of the best behaved dog we have ever owned. In fact, she is so smart and friendly everyone that sees her wants to take her home. We have had a few dogs in our life and after the last one, a toy poodle, I swore I would never get another dog. But when I had to leave for a couple of weeks and thought my wife would be kind of lonely as I knew I was when my wife went away to the cottage for a week, I decided we would get another dog. I picked out the pug because they are friendly in nature and so well behaved. This was the best thing we have ever done. Tallie is a real lap dog, she loves to be loved and that is something my wife and I are good at doing. She has become our little baby and she gets the best of everything we can give her. I just want to say Thank You again to Genevieve who was so understanding and helped us out at our time of need. If you ever want a great dog, try to get a pug. You will never be dissapointed. Thank You.

"Matilda"

Matilda has brought so much love and joy to my family. My two kids lover her to pieces and so do I! The transition was done fairly easily as well. Matilda had never been for walks or playtime in the park, to see her enjoy those things for the first time was such a joy! She didn't even know what a treat was! She is truly a great dog, a family member! We also have a small 4 year old Yorkie! She is Tilda's big sister.
